Personal Description:
Hi, I'm 29yrs old and am currently working in a primary school in Vauxhall, London. I moved to Winchester three years ago. I currently work in a year 6 class but have had experience with the whole age range 4-11yrs. I'm the Literacy co-ordinator in a 2 formentry primary school. We have a lot of EAL children so I'm experienced when working with children who are new to English. I'm a friendly, bubbly and enthusiatic teacher who really enjoys the job.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in London for the past 6 years. I am a Literacy co-orinator, lead teacher and have had experience teaching from 4-11yrs. Being a primary school teacher I have experience with all subjects across the curriculum.

Tutoring Approach:

When tutoring I try to make it practical and fun. I look at what the pupil struggles with and why they are struggling with it and then I try to overcome their issues. I try to make the learning as personal as possible.

Personal Description:
I am BA (Hon) graduate and Professional Freelance Translator, Interpreter and Private Tutor.
I am married with a 15-year old son.

Teaching Experience:

Following my degree, I returned to Spain to teach English for a year.
During the past three years I have taught French and Spanish on a one-to-one basis.

Tutoring Approach:

Based very much on what the learner wants to cover. Once we have agreed the initial starting point, I would advise that they purchase a suitable language course book with CD/DVD so that they will be able to consolidate what they learn in the relaxed but structured lesson with me, and also continue to listen, and speak in the chosen target language between lessons.
Although the lessons with me will be structured, I will go at the learners' own pace and ability, consolidating as we go along, and introducing fun exercises and games by way of revision, and also give constructive advice about what other resources can assist them.

Having worked for SAE International as a course co-ordinator, my teaching material is tried and tested. I have had several success stories from past students and continue to get positive feedback.

I am providing the only valid alternative to full-time Music Production courses: One-on-one, tailor-made, project oriented courses that can be taken in your own time, either in the studio or from the comfort of your own home.

For complete beginners, i have a series of fast-track courses that will give you the basic skills and tools you need to start your journey into the music industry.

I also provide a production, mixing and mastering service whereby clients can participate in the process and gain invaluable knowledge.

* 4 years experience as a private tutor

Tutoring Approach:

I have a humanistic approach when it comes to teaching. Having taught large classes in the past, i much prefer the focus of a one-on-one class. I work at my student's pace, only moving on when he/she is ready.
My classes are hands-on and project oriented with the aim of producing a finished product, be it a full track or simple drum loop.

Personal Description:
I am a UK Law Graduate and TEFL certified tutor with more than 6 years experience teaching English to individuals of all language level proficiencies. I am also a freelance English-Swahili interpreter & translator as well as a proofreader of academic materials like dissertations, coursework, essays etc. Furthermore, I have higher basic level knowledge of French and Korean.

Teaching Experience:

I started teaching on and off since 2004 then seriously took up part time teaching in 2007 and full time teaching after 2009. I have taught individuals of all proficiency levels and with different needs ranging from improving conversation skills or grammar skills to full on learning for absolute beginners.

Tutoring Approach:

First of all I like to determine the level of my students' proficiency by having a simple conversation with them and also having them read a short article/written piece so as to create my lessons to suit their individual needs and their particular level of proficiency. Consequently my approach and material changes to suit each individual student.

I usually create lesson plans according to the students' needs and their level of proficiency. I use different text books as well as online materials and come up with effective lessons. I also use lots of flash cards as they are a very effective way to remember new things. News articles, simple song lyrics etc are also ways I use to make lessons fun but very easy to remember at the same time. I use these especially for conversational purposes to get my students to learn new vocabulary and expressions as well as be more confident speaking/reading English.

I've studied Maths, Physics and Chemistry at University and passed the International Baccalaureate (the European equivalent for A-Levels) for each of them with full marks.

I'm a native Italian speaker and I studied Italian literature for 5 years.

Over the last 5 years, teaching has been a key component of my working week.

Teaching Experience:

Supervised student during her Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (June 2012 - August 2012)

Coursework demonstrator in Quantum Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Fourier Transform, Electromagnetism, Electron in Solids, Relativity (October 2008 - June 2011)

Tutored 4 middle school children during my high-school years (2001-2004)

Tutoring Approach:

When I tutor I tend to balance explanations with problem solving exercises. The teaching side focus on ways to make even the most difficult scientific idea simple to understand through examples and real life applications, but truly understand a concept you need to apply it and to learn how to use it properly, and that's where the problem solving comes in.

Personal Description:
Graduate of accounts and economics, with other main subjects -- english, geography, business studies.
Very passionate about imparting education, specialize in teaching english, maths (algebra and geometry), biology, chemistry at all levels upto gcse.
Significant knowledge of teaching 11+ entrance exams which are verbal and non verbal reasoning.
Expertise in business studies projects, anthology (comparisons of literature and poems)

Parents have certified my teaching skills and most of my tutees having bagged A grades, have progressed in the most prominent universities.

I believe in going more than an extra mile to encourage children.

THEIR ACHIEVEMENT IS MY SUCCESS.

Teaching Experience:

More than 19 years teaching both the primary and secondary pupils.

Have taught in various schools, both private and state maintained, tutored privately to pupils from various multi cultural backgrounds. Worked as a Teaching Assistant in special needs schools.

A vast knowledge of 11+ entrance exams which means teaching verbal and non verbal reasoning power. Many have mastered the art of solving maths in a minute whether equations, fractions, algebra or mental maths.

English is tutored by me which includes preparing students for GCSEs exams -- which means imparting fluent writing skills, cambridge grammar, character sketch, Shakespeare's work, Literature and Anthology (comparing poems) and helping with course work.

Students have successfully mastered interview skills through me, and gained foot hold in private schools without any tensions.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is completely different : I believe all children are blessed, and as a tutor, my success lies in tapping their potential by changing their weaknesses into strengths.

This means, I am very patient, punctual, consistent and professional.

Motivation, inspiration, appreciation and constant appraisals are the key to capture the minds of children.

Children have learnt to calculate maths without the use of calculators, thereby using their brain power, solving mentally, and being faster.

Practice makes a man perfect ----- I give pupils thorough practice and past papers to solve, before sitting for the exams.
Further, I also teach them how to attempt exam questions, how to check their maths answers and succeed with confidence.

I also mark their printed text books used in schools, making lessons easier to understand, highlighting questions and answers, give reasons, fill in the gaps, true or false etc. that appear in their exam papers. This makes learning, memorizing and preparation for exams very very simple without tensions.

STUDENTS COMING TO MY PLACE FOR LESSONS IS PREFERABLE.....HOWEVER........
HOME VISITS ARE ALSO UNDERTAKEN AT AN EXTRA TRAVEL SUPPLEMENT.

Personal Description:
I am currently in my last year of sixth form studying Spanish, Maths and Business and while I want to study Law and Spanish Law with Spanish at University my second passion is tutoring and I aim to start a language tutoring business properly after university. In the meantime I am tutoring as many pupils as possible.
I also have a passion for music and have had singing lessons from the age of 10 and piano from the age of 7; I have been going through the ABRMS Grades on both instruments ever since I started learning.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching ever since I can remember, as child I used to teach my brother, who is 4 years younger than me, everything I had learnt that day and as a family we believe this contributed to him excelling through school and now he's starting his GCSE's he is well ahead of the game.
On a professional note, I have been a Kumon Assistant for over a year and have worked with children between the ages of 2-15. At the moment I am in charge of the early learners, this is a table for the pupils who need one-to-one assistance to become more confident and develop their maths and English skills. My pupils are aged between 3-6, and on a busy day I can be looking after 9 demanding pupils at once. It's a very demanding job but I love it!
I am also tutoring a 23 yr old woman who didn't achieve her maths GCSE at school and is now wanting to take her GCSE, she started with KS1 basic maths skills and is now making considerable progress.
I also volunteer at a school in a GCSE Spanish class, the school only has 1 part-time GCSE Spanish teacher and so I support her by taking the pupils out one by one to do speaking practice and I also introduce new grammar to them during these sessions.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring starts with the pupil, no two students learn the same and this is what many tutors forget. My first lesson always starts with a simple chat at the pupils level, I like to get a good understanding of their academic ability, what they enjoy, how well they concentrate, their workload, their confidence etc and also taking into account the parents vision. However while I care, I don't take nonsense, I am not one for parents and guardians wasting their money and if pupils aren't putting in their best effort e.g. Not doing their homework, parents or guardians will be informed and we will all deal with it effectively.
For younger pupils I try to keep it fun and entertaining and try to keep away from books as much as possible at first, however with mature pupils I like to find out what they want to learn first, and the pupil has more say in the direction of the sessions.
I like to make myself available via text, Skype, FaceTime, emails or calls for any queries from pupils about their homework because I always found I would struggle the most when I couldn't get hold of any help. I try to reply to texts and emails ASAP however I miss a Skype, FaceTime, or call I will either be answered via text message or return them as soon as I'm free.
