Personal Description:
Just finished 3rd Year at Oxford University studying Engineering Science in which I achieved a First. Competitive Swimmer, British Record Holder, British Champion, took 2 years out of university to train full time in the lead up to London 2012 Olympics. At A-level I studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Latin, achieving A grade in all of them and achieved 9 A* grades at GCSE. I would describe myself as a very relaxed, friendly and approachable person and am extremely patient.

Teaching Experience:

I have a dyslexic younger brother who I tutored a lot for GCSE maths and science. I have also tutored a girl for GCSE, AS and A-Level maths and another boy for AS and A-Level Physics and another boy for AS and A-Level physics. Also at school I helped explain various concepts to fellow students.

Tutoring Approach:

It would work best if the tutee contacted me in advance, outlining where they're having trouble and what they'd like to go over. Then in the tutorials it is best if we work from the tutee's book but I have many I could bring along if they don't have one, and, from my experience, the best method of revising is practice, so after I have explained the concept we will work though some problems together until they have a firm understanding of what's going on.

Personal Description:
I am a thirty- eight year old Spanish native speaker who has been living and teaching languages (Spanish,German and French)in London for the past eleven years. I am outgoing, dynamic and passionate about teaching languages.I love seeing how my pupils progress and are able to communicate in another language lesson after lesson. I love travelling and meeting people from all over the world. In the past I lived in Germany for four years where I taught Spanish to students from all backgrounds, ages and levels.

Teaching Experience:

I am a native Spanish speaker and experienced language teacher with recognised QTS. I have been devoted to language teaching in secondary schools in London for the last eleven years. During this time I have taught all levels (KS3/KS4/KS5) in the three languages (Spanish, German and French) preparing pupils for GCSE and AS/A level examinations.
Previously I have also worked in private language schools in Spain and in the in public further education sector in Germany, teaching Spanish and German to pupils of all ages and backgrounds. For the last three years I have been devoted to giving private tuition in the three languages as well as intensive courses (4 to 8 hours a day) to adults (linguistic immersion). At present I also give private tuition to primary school children, KS3 and GCSE students

Tutoring Approach:

As a vocational teacher I take a lot of pride in my work and strive to assure all pupils achieve their full potential. I am therefore used to identifying and meeting the needs of students of differing ability, levels, ages and backgrounds and planning accordingly adapting my methods to the student's needs.
I use the communicative approach trying to use the target language as much as possible as I strongly believe languages are tools of communication and therefore they must be spoken.
All in all I try to make my lessons fun, entertaining and applicable to your immediate language needs. For this reason I often use games, role plays, songs, Internet, cards, etc.. so there is no chance to get bored so,I hope to hear from you! Hasta pronto! Bis bald!

Personal Description:
I have had a career in teaching that has involved responsibility as Head of Department and as a Deputy Head. After 35 years I am now "semi retired" but still wish to teach chemistry, doing some part time work with A level groups in school and also some private tuition. Throughout my time in teaching I feel that I have been successful in getting the best out of students, whether with a highly academic group of A* students or with those who struggle with some of the basic ideas.

Teaching Experience:

35 years - in each of these years I have taught chemistry up to A2 level. This has been in a variety of types of school, most recently a leading independent school. I have experience of both GCSE where I am an examiner and IGCSE which I have taught for the last 4 years
I also moderate GCE Applied Science for AQA and can give good advice about the preparation of portfolios.

Tutoring Approach:

Relationship is everything. I always say the first lesson is a trial without obligation. I need the tutee to be able to relate to me and trust me and I need to see that there is a real wish to learn and make progress. I do not want to take a fee if there is no chance of a good result at the end. I teach A level my fostering understanding - chemistry is not a subject which be learned by rote and it is vital that the basic ideas are understood.
Tutoring will be a combination of an initial analysis of the task to be undertaken followed by a programme of discussion/teaching/ problem solving and lots of work to be done between visits and discussed next time!
I will only travel to a student's house - for all sorts of reasons this is preferable to students coming to me.

Personal Description:
I am a very well-qualified, experienced, friendly and successful teacher of English as a Foreign Language, and I teach individuals or small groups of students in my home. I have always loved learning languages and am very much a 'people person', which is why I decided to become an English teacher after leaving university. Even now, after over 20 years' experience, I am delighted that I am still learning new things about English language and teaching.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience has mostly been of adults and young adults (16 - 55) in small groups or one to one classes. For many years I taught English as a Foreign Language at Bell International London, and before that for the British Council in Italy (Milan and Rome) and Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur). I have also taught on pre-sessional and in-sessional courses at Queen Mary, University of London. My students have been at all levels and from a wide variety of cultures.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is very student-centred. We first discuss which language aspects my students want to improve and their previous language learning experience. We then agree on a programme, and regularly review it. Each lesson builds on the previous one and the materials and teaching approach are tailored to each individual's needs, interests and learning style.

Teaching Experience:

My main experience of teaching one-on-one is in the form of vocal tuition.

I also have experience of teaching in the classroom, where I have worked with children aged 8-11 teaching a variety of subjects (including English Booster Classes, English Literature, Reading, Egyptology and Drama).

I have a lot of experience of working with young people, with extensive experience gained from working with the Admissions department of Worcester College (at the University of Oxford) as well as working as a Choral Scholar at the College (where I had to provide an example to the young choristers of one of the choirs).

In addition to this I was a Junior Foster Carer for 11 years (from ages 7-18), where I worked alongside various members of Social Services in order to provide a stable home for children in care.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is a traditional one, particularly when it comes to the teaching of Latin and Greek, which is taught by composition into the language from English and through the reading of original texts.

I ask for a tutee to try their hardest - as long as they do, they will be met with a tutor who will give their all in order to help them achieve their goal, a tutor dedicated to his teaching and his pupil.

I also incorporate modern methods into my teaching, including the use of ICT and the latest examples of Digital Humanities e.g. The Perseus Project.

Personal Description:
After completely A-levels in Theatre Studies, Psychology and English Literature/Language I went to the prestigious Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London and have been working as an actress and teacher ever since. I have worked in West End and regional theatre, voice over, film and recently spent two years playing 'Lexi King' in ITV's Emmerdale. I have experience teaching children as young as 4 as well as running an adult drama group. Alongside my work commitments I am currently studying for an Open University degree.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught at acting and drama to children as young as 4 to adults. I have taught in after school clubs, weekend drama academies and full time further education establishments. I have also run my own summer workshops in improvisation and audition technique and coached privately to help people successfully audition for drama school. I have recently worked as a TA in a wide range of mainstream/PRU/SLD schools with students from 4 to 16.

Tutoring Approach:

I would approach each person as an individual and assess the best strategy to help you achieve your goals. Different approaches work for different people, depending on learning styles, background etc and I wouldn't like to promote a 'one size fits all' approach to tutoring. This is especially true in my areas of expertise as they are art based.

Personal Description:
My name is Darryl and I graduated from The University of Southampton in June 2013 with a degree in Economics and Actuarial Science (A very Statistical and Mathematical based subject). I previously worked for the American Bank Wells Fargo, and I now currently work as a Financial Consultant for Deloitte.

I have tutored for the past 4 years and I have enjoyed great success in helping my students to reach their full potential, and in many times, excel beyond their predicted grades. As a person who has just come out of education I have plenty of helpful tricks and tips to doing well in exams. I am also very familiar with the school curriculum as I have younger siblings, whom I also tutor. What sets me apart from most is that as well as tutoring my students, I take the role of a mentor, to motivate, encourage and guide them towards success.

As a young teenager I was a student who was pressured by my parents do excel in school, this sometimes caused me to have a more rebellious attitude towards my studies. Thus, I realise the various difficulties many students face throughout their studies, and I believe that having this experience provides me with the ability to connect to students who either are struggling with their studies, or are disengaged with their school work.

I achieved straight A's and A*'s at GCSE at a very poor school, I then got offered a scholarship to attend an independent school where I achieved A's in Mathematics, Physics and Economics. Finally I completed my studies at University with an upper second class degree with honours. I now am on a gap year and about to start a teaching course with the vision of becoming a Secondary School teacher in the near future.

Teaching Experience:

I started teaching Primary school and GCSE students whilst I was in my final year in sixth form, I then went on to teach A-level students whilst I was at University. Throughout those years my proudest achievement has been motivating my students and changing their attitudes towards studying and school. I have been able to get my students to work much harder then they (or their parents) ever expected them to. I believe the reason for is that I am young and provide a more friend-like support, as opposed to a demanding parent or teacher. By doing this my students' feel that I can relate to them and thus we establish a respected relationship. In addition I have also tutored students for entrance exams (e.g. 11+) and I am happy to say I have had great success in doing this also.

I have travelled to tutor many of my students, as well as tutoring some of them in my own home. I have always catered to the preferences of my students and their parents and I continue to do so to get the best out of my students. I like to finish each of my lessons by briefing the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the student's ongoing progress and my future goals for them.

Tutoring Approach:

I spend a lot of time planning for sessions so that my students get the very best out of each lesson. I am a very organised person, and I like to set short term and long term goals for myself and my students. I also like to keep track of the performance of my students, both for my needs and theirs. I always ensure that my lessons are engaging, and I work towards building a good relationship with my students, encouraging them to ask questions without any hesitation. I make sure that my students are comfortable with me by building a friendly and trusting relationship; I believe this enables my students to feel easy and allows them to ask me many questions, which leads to a better learning experience.

I adapt my approach depending on my students' learning style as I feel this is the key to successful teaching. I have had a range of different students, from those who were demotivated and disengaged, to those who needed me for that extra help to reach their goals.

Past papers is a very important part of my lessons, once I am able to cover the concepts and theories of the subject I swiftly turn the attention of my pupils to past papers. I believe practising these papers are definitely the best way of achieving great exam results.

I OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR MULTIPLE HOURS OF TUITION.
