Personal Description:
I am a TEFL teacher with a university degree (Music) and am from London. In my day job I work in a music company. I also teach English to foreign students in London, having worked for 2 years in British Council accredited language schools both in London and Portugal. I am a very friendly person and really enjoy teaching any age group.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught TEFL in language schools for two years, and have given private tuition in English and in Music for 9 years for all levels of learners. I have taught English at all levels from Beginner to Advanced, plus Business English and conversation classes. I have taught children as young as 6, all the way up to adults, and vary my teaching method according to the age group I am working with.

I have a Music degree and play and teach the Recorder, as well as giving lessons in music Theory. I used to work for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in the syllabus department, so have great insider knowledge about music exams. Additionally, I also used to mark Theory papers, so know what examiners are looking for.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to be as learner-centred as possible in my teaching. First I will conduct a needs analysis to assess a potential student's level and to identify the areas in which they would like to improve and their preferred learning methods. I encourage my students to actively participate in my lessons - it will not just be me talking. I aim to make lessons fun and engaging, as I believe that students learn more when they are interested in the material given.

Personal Description:
I am a Master's student from Sheffield University. I completed my MSc (Research) in 2004 and have been in the Building Services Industry as a consulting engineer for the past 7 years. I have undergone a CRB check as part of my professional work.

I have always loved to teach, I used to teach undergraduates while I was at University. I like to be a tutor as it helps empowering people and enlightening lives. I shall try to make learning core concepts as easy as possible in order to make learning a highly enjoyable experience.

I have more than a thousand E-Books covering all aspects of Engineering, Maths, thermodynamics etc in short all Engineering Sciences, I shall provide relevant E-Books to my Tutees for free to help them learn the core fundamentals and also to enable them to do further examples and case studies to reinforce the learning process.

Awards:
Won the Outstanding Contribution to Sustainability in the Industry (2007)

Teaching Experience:

I have been involved in teaching ever since I was at University to my fellow juniors and here in the UK, I have always loved teaching as a hobby, as it a powerful tool for empowerment.

I have sucessfully taught Engineering Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics to 2nd and 3rd year Engineering students. I have assisted 2 students projects in CFD analysis and Gas Turbines till date. My teaching style involves concentrating on the core concepts in the derivations rather than concentrating on the Maths and then scaling upwards to enable the student to appreciate the Physics and the Maths involved.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to make core concepts in Physics and Maths as easy to enable the pupil to understand the concept. Once the foundation is laid properly, additional information can be added to complete the overall structure.
Chemistry involves a bit of rote learning but again core concepts if clear make learning chemistry enjoyable with loads of FUN !!!

I am also looking at online coaching for those candidates who have to travel too far (excess of 20 miles), this is brilliant as it can achieve the same result without the hassle of travelling by using a combination of skype / video conferencing and team viewer. The pupil would need these free to download softwares and off we go !. If the tutee is nearby (3-4 miles) I dont mind driving to teach. We can always work out something optimal between us.

Personal Description:
I am a recent graduate from the University of Plymouth and hold a maths degree. I am training to become a teacher and tutoring is a key stepping stone on that ladder. I have studied maths as my primary subject from an early age and have an excellent knowledge of subjects like differentiation, integration, algebra, and statistics.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a personal tutor for two years and specialise in GCSE level maths.

I was enrolled in the SAS (Student Associates Scheme) for university students last year where I took part in the training course. I attended a series of lectures on modern teaching techniques and how to work with children.

I have also worked for six years at TeamSport Bristol, a karting circuit, where I regularly am required to work with children. I am also a junior instructor where I have to brief young karters on the dangers of the sport and ensure that they are competing in a safe environment.

Tutoring Approach:

I find that many tutors have a good knowledge but fail to incite any interest in the subject. I find this a crying shame as maths can be fascinating if it taught in the correct way. As a recent graduate of the UK schooling system I have a modern perspective on the curriculum and can teach according to this. As a younger person I am also be able to connect more with a tutee rather than someone who may be working by an outdated approach. I also hold excellent IT skills and am proficient with Microsoft Office.

Personal Description:
I am a patient, sympathetic person who has a good sense of humour and enjoys meeting new people and getting to know them. I am passionate about making Mathematics enjoyable and understandable to young people. At present I am writing a novel for young teenagers which will challenge them to solve Mathematical problems and puzzles faced by the characters in the book. I'm hopeful that this will enthuse teenagers to see both the usefulness and beauty of Maths!
I am also passionate about ideas, beliefs and world views. I believe that it is important for people to think clearly about their world view and religion and/or philosophy of life. My aim is to help students gain factual knowledge, insight and empathy for people of different views from themselves but also to analyse both the basis and outcome.

Teaching Experience:

I became a qualified teacher with a B.Ed degree (Wales) in 1973 and taught full time in comprehensive schools in the UK and private schools in Lebanon, Cyprus and Egypt. Since returning to the UK I have taught part time, in schools, colleges of further education, and as a private tutor. I have taught Maths and R.S. to GCSE and Adult Numeracy Levels 1,2 and 3. I have also privately tutored A level Philosophy of Religion, Common Entrance and Quantative Reasoning (needed for entry to Medicine and Dentistry). The vast majority of my students have seen considerable progress and have gained the qualification required.

Tutoring Approach:

First of all, a student needs to gain confidence in him/herself. In Maths, this is gained through understanding and practice of the four rules of Maths. I have invented some board games to facilitate this, which have been thoroughly enjoyed, and have helped achieve the particular skills. I believe that Maths is about understanding and the application of logic, so I try to work from basic principles, rather than learning by rote.
As an R.S. tutor, I come from a position as a Christian, but aim to be objective and respectful to all faiths, or indeed to Atheism. I try to encourage students to critique the bases of particular ways of thinking, and to discuss and debate the points raised and the logical outcomes of particular beliefs.

Personal Description:
I have had much help from tutors throughout my academic life so I can understand the value that is offered to a tutee by receiving extra tuition in this way. I am currently studying a Ph.D in Medical Science at Aberdeen University and studied my undergraduate degree here also gaining a 2.1 in my honours degree in Biomedical Science (physiology). The hours spent doing work towards my doctorate is fairly flexible and I have a car meaning my ability to fit around the schedule of others is very good. I consider myself outgoing, patient and very reliable.

Teaching Experience:

I was Biology prefect in my final year at school which involved helping to teach classes up until fourth year. I also carried out some work experience teaching primary school children PE and as part of my Ph.D I will be demonstrating for and tutoring first and second year undergraduates at the university. I have also had vast one on one tutoring experience from 13+ maths and science to standard grade/intermediate physics to advanced higher/A-level Biology and Chemistry.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring will be engaging, challenging and above all I will strive to create an environment which makes the tutee want to push him/herself. The result will be that the tutee will enjoy doing learning and the progress and benefits will start to become apparent. It was through this style of teaching/ tutoring that I found my strengths in academia and ultimately successes, therefore I wish to pass this confidence in learning on.

Personal Description:
I am a student at the University of East Anglia and I am in the final year of my Master of Mathematics degree.

Teaching Experience:

I volunteered at the Denes High School as a Teaching Assistant in GCSE Mathematics for a semester. At the end of the semester I taught my own class successfully.

Tutoring Approach:

Hands on and adaptive. Whenever the pupil encounters a problem in their understanding I will work slowly and carefully to pinpoint whatever is causing the problem. I will then break down the problem to make sure the pupil fully understands how solve it independently. I would then set some similar problems as homework to solidify the pupil's understanding.

Personal Description:
"Nurturing minds towards becoming Excellent Leaders of tomorrow"
I am currently studying my PGDE in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. I have a passion for Maths and have always excelled at it. I have three years experience tutoring Maths at A-level and GCSE level. I have represented in mathematics competitions at an international platform.I am also studying for the PG Cert which will enable me to lecture at University level demonstrating my commitment to teaching and learning. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and believe I am able to make a significant contribution towards improving student grades and helping students to obtain their required grades. I believe that all students have the potential to excel and often just need guidance and encouragement to help them achieve their potential, which is always my ultimate aim. I am passionate about helping students fulfil their potential and want to be part of students' success story.

Teaching Experience:

I will do the writeup soon. Need to list them down presently.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a very systematic person. My teaching method is straight forward. I teach each individual student at his/her level. I will provide a step by step approach into dealing with and tackling each question. I provide examples and papers from past year examinations.Approach to tutoring varies from objective to objective.
Language in my opinion should be taught in a full immersion style, especially when it is targeting groups of people who are doing it for either vocational or personal reasons.
Tutoring of subjects such as languages with an objective such as GCSE or Highers or indeed University exams must take into account the syllabus that students must complete in order to reach their target: i.e. pass exams and, at the same time, learn in an effective though 'unforgettable' way. The majority of classes must be delivered in the target language, however in order to meet timing of syllabus coverage and exams some of the concept must be strengthened in the student's language.
In an ideal world, where no exams or timed targets exist, then tutoring of a language should happen 100% in the target language. With timing and strategy i guarantee improvement with my guidance.
