Personal Description:
I am a very keen and enthusiastic university student and love to help others learn. I specialize with children and young adults. I am a good role model as I am bubbly, show confidence and balance my studying (Business Degree at Northumbria University) with my sports (rock climbing and snowboarding), work and social life.

I have a range of experience in childcare and tuition and find different ways for my pupils to understand the materials they are learning. I find ways in which they can relate to the information which helps them retain the information for longer.
I have had several years of experience with private tutoring producing great results such as a B at A level Business Studies (please ask if you would like a reference). I will be finishing my final year of studies mid May 2013 and will be available to teach from this time onward.

Teaching Experience:

All throughout my first and second year at university I was working at Explore Learning, a Maths and English tuition center designed to help children with their national curriculum between the ages of 5 and 14. This has given me valuable experience on many different teaching techniques as well as keeping up to date with the new learning strategies that children are using in their day to day learning at school.
My one on one tutoring experience ranges from A Level Business Students to Primary Maths and English including other topics such as Current affairs.
On a sporting level, I gained my Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors qualification in 2009 and have continued to teach snowboarding over in Italy with Interski in my university holidays.

Quote from a reference: 'Rabia will definitely miss your cheery and happy persona. She has had other tutors but with nowhere near the enthusiasm and effort that you put in! She looks forward to you coming and has a real connection with you.'

Tutoring Approach:

I have many different approaches to learning, dependant on the age of the pupil. I like to use targets and rewards to keep motivation levels high and learning is fun by relating the subject to my tutee's everyday life. I ensure there are several reviews and assessments to enhance progression and keep on track.

**MY FIRST MEETING WITH PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS IS ALWAYS A FREE, NO OBLIGATION MEETING SO IF YOU ARE UNSURE IF I CAN HELP PLEASE STILL GET IN TOUCH**

First and foremost, I aim to fully understand exactly what my students wish to learn and achieve. I treat all my students fairly and equally and provide sessions which are inclusive, varied and inspire curiousity and a desire to learn. My sessions are never dull!

I am happy to visit students at their home or have them come to my home.

Personal Description:
Currently working full time for a major oil services company in Aberdeen and studying part-time in Pure and Applied Mathematics at the University of Aberdeen.

I am a friendly, conscientious individual who cares deeply about other people's personal and academic development.

When not working or studying, I enjoy taking care of my health through a variety sports and weightlifting.

Teaching Experience:

I have been registered on UKtutors for three years now. I have tutored many pupils of varying skill levels, which has allowed me to refine and become very confident in my approach.

A large number of my tutees were found through word-of-mouth from former tutees pleased with their results.

I would be more than happy to supply references from past tutees for your peace of mind.

Tutoring Approach:

I passionately believe that everyone deserves the best chance at school. However, more and more of my tutees are complaining that their schools are failing to provide that. It seems that due to funding cutbacks/lack of qualified teachers, only the most naturally gifted pupils are given the right attention and everyone else is left at the bottom of the pack.

I have no such prejudice. It does not matter to me if you are a straight A student looking for some insurance, or if you are a bottom set student who has always struggled with maths. All I expect from my tutees is their undivided attention and willingness to learn. If you care about your education and future prospects, then so do I.

I am available weekday evenings and at the weekend, just let me know which times would suit you. I reply very quickly.

I have a car so travelling to your home is not an issue, however I may require additional fuel money depending on your location.

Personal Description:
I am an English and Spanish Postgraduate Student with a Master's degree in Spanish and Teaching Foreign Languages. I am a Spanish native speaker but I was raised bilingually between Spain and the UK. I really enjoy teaching Spanish and English, since they are both part of my background.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught Spanish and English privately for 5 years. This private tuition consisted in one-to-one or small group classes. I also taught Spanish at West Virginia University (USA) for two academic years and English at a Language School in Spain for two years. In these contexts, classes were bigger, from 5 to 25 students per class. I currently teach Spanish Language and Literature at University of London.

Tutoring Approach:

I always try to adapt my teaching method to the student's preferences and learning style, but I think it is very important to promote communication in the target language as much as possible during the lesson. This makes students more confident and also facilitates language acquisition greatly. It is also essential to make the lesson as entertaining and dynamic as possible, because if the student is enjoying the lesson, they will learn more easily and quickly.

Personal Description:
Gabriel is currently a second-year LLB Law (Hons) at the University of Manchester.
He is a foreign student from Singapore and is ethnic Chinese.

Other than being proficient in English, he is fluent is Mandarin and Cantonese. He is also learning Spanish at the moment (intermediate DELE B1).

After completing his A Levels in 2008, he spent 22 months performing mandatory military service in Singapore before embarking on his tertiary education in law at the University of Manchester.

He counts reading and running as his past times. Gabriel has taken part in a mixture of endurance events and his most satisfying accomplishment is the completion of a 100KM Ultramarathon.

Teaching Experience:

Gabriel was a relief teacher for 3 months at Ngee Ann Primary School (Singapore).
Over there, he taught students from the age of 7 to 12.

His teaching subjects there included English, Mathematics, Mandarin, Science and Physical Education.

Gabriel studied English, Mandarin, Mathematics, Geography, History, Economics for his Cambridge University A Levels in 2008.

Tutoring Approach:

Gabriel believes in having a personable tutoring style, which would enable the tutee to feel at ease so that he or she would feel comfortable with raising any questions or requesting to repeat a point.

Interaction would be at the heart of the tuition sessions as this would allow the tutee to have the chance to speak more (English or Mandarin), which would allow him or her to have a chance to practise as well as for Gabriel to identify any possible mistakes with his or her spoken capability.

Since Gabriel is fluent in English, there would not be any communication problems during Mandarin sessions.

Personal Description:
My passion for teaching started in 2008, having qualified as a teacher at University in Madrid. After a pedagogic practice in an Secondary Bilingual School I moved to France, where I have recently graduated in French and Spanish Linguistics.

Last year I finished a master's degree in French Applied Language in the Sorbonne University and the Paris Trade Chamber, where I trained in didactics of Specific French (business, scientific, hotel trade, etc).

I'm a very enthusiastic teacher, able to find the talent hidden in every student.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience includes two years as a Modern Foreign Language teacher with Learnissimo, training individual from different sectors (enterprises as Danone, Tompress), three years in Primary and Secondary schools and a six months internship in the French Institute in Madrid.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching method for is based on tasks and the PPP paradigm (presenting a subject, practicing by repetition, matching or filling and producing in the context of a particular task). This approach allows the students to learn by practicing in their real communication situations and to progress in a very short time!

The type of materials I use are generally design by myself, using authentic documents as reports, conversation recordings, emails, hand outs and I also use general linguistics and grammar manuals and essays to support my research

Using a task-based approach, you will be focusing in particular missions and I will give you the tools to accomplish them and I will be designing a individualized programme from your personal or professional targets.

Basically, this is a very practical methodology based on learning by doing.

Personal Description:
I am a language graduate from the University of Central Lancashire. I completed my degree in June 2012 with second class honours in French and Spanish language.

I now wish to impart my knowledge to other people so that they can learn about other cultures and have the ability to communicate with other people all over the world. I have had experiences of both studying and teaching Modern Foreign Languages within a school environment, so I am aware of what is required to make significant progress when learning a language.

I am a patient individual and enthusiastic about Modern Foreign Languages, and this combination means that I will strive to give you the best experience of learning a new language that I can offer. All sessions will be specific to each individual, and will aid you in identifying your strengths and weaknesses in a particular language - and what you can do to further improve upon your previous ability.

Teaching Experience:

I have had a wide range of classroom experience both in primary and secondary schools whilst I was enrolled on a Postgraduate Teacher Training Programme at Keele University from September 2012 to January 2013.

I have delivered lessons in the subjects of French and Spanish both at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 level, and have planned sessions for a year 5/6 class whilst on placement at Sandbach Community Primary School. Therefore, I am aware of what topics need to be learnt in order to succeed at Modern Foreign Language GCSE examinations.

Additionally, whilst undertaking cover supervisor duties during the current academic year, there have been numerous instances where my knowledge of Modern Foreign Languages has proved invaluable when working within the Modern Foreign Languages department to ensure pupils are meeting the standard of work expected of them in the fields of French and Spanish language.

Tutoring Approach:

I base my tutoring around the needs of the client. The first session will mainly be spent discussing what you want to gain by being tutored, for instance what level of language acquisition you would like to have developed by the end of the sessions.

I like to incorporate topical conversation within my teaching, rather than solely focussing on grammatical rules. I feel that this is the most beneficial way to learn a language; instead of learning grammar through completing verb drills, it is more effective to put what you have learnt into practice, regardless of the level at which you are currently working.

I can assure you that my sessions will not be formed around learning passages from a textbook, but will involve methods of applying the language in a practical situation. For instance, introducing role play situations to emulate being in a French or Spanish environment will help you to become more confident about speaking in a foreign tongue. Overall, I believe that through my tutoring you will have the ability to converse fluently in the language of your choice .

Personal Description:
I am dedicated, experienced, extremely patient and most of all a knowledgeable tutor.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently teaching in an 11-16 school and have 19 years of experience in teaching Maths. During these years I have had great success with my exam results regardless of pupils abilities.

Tutoring Approach:

I identify pupils weaknesses and help them improve on these over time. As a result this allows pupils to reach and hopefully exceed their target grade/level. My experience will allow me to use the necessary skills for pupils to become much more confident in coping with their areas of weakness. I have had a huge amount of success when tutoring regardless of the ability.

Personal Description:
Hi there! My names April and I am 23 years old. I have recently just completed my post graduate study at Keele University and gained a Merit in MSc Psychology and Child Social Development (2012). Prior to this, I also graduated with a Second - Upper Class honours degree in Psychology and Sociology (2011).

Besides studying, I have completed many training courses in Learning Disabilities and have volunteered (as well as worked) with children with Learning Disabilities in my spare time since 2011.

My ambition to a successful career includes becoming a qualified Teacher in Psychology and possibly an Educational Psychologist in the future.

Teaching Experience:

Currently I work as a Learning Support Assistant and Teaching Assistant for children aged 11 +. Within this role I work with children both in the classroom and on a one to one basis. This has enabled me to gain first hand mentoring experience and I am keen to use this along with my Psychology and Sociology knowledge to enhance your learning. From this position I realise that every individual learns in a different way and my job has allowed me to explore these possible ways of learning.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is very much centred around the individual and the way in which you learn. I am open, supportive and enjoy motivating students to achieve their potential.

The typical resources I use to aid learning are specific textbooks used to aid GCSE / A Level courses in Psychology and Sociology (both specifications; Edexcel and AQA), access to journal articles, worksheets, past exam papers and answers and lots of activities in order to aid learning.
