Personal Description:
I'm a successful professional private tutor and hold a first class degree in Physics from the University of Surrey. Since graduating I have worked in industry in numerous technical fields including software, nuclear fusion and sonar.

I have been providing private tuition since 2008 but in 2010 I decided to take a career break to concentrate on tutoring. This has been very successful and I now tutor over 20 students in maths and physics (both subjects to GCSE and A level).

I also offer online tuition using Skype and a shared interactive whiteboard (both free to download). This means you can enjoy your tutorial whilst sitting at your computer at home!

My hobbies include running, playing the viola and visiting New Zealand (sadly not as often as I would like!).

Teaching Experience:

I have been providing private tuition in maths and physics for eight years.

Tutoring Approach:

My strategy is to ensure that sessions are interactive and enjoyable. I make sure that my students understand the fundamental principles behind the material, this then makes the subsequent detail much easier to comprehend and remember. For specific exam preparation I believe the best strategy is to work through past paper questions.

Personal Description:
I am a 27 year old female, with a degree in English Literature, Film and Theatre and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Professional Acting.

I have a strong theatrical background, not only in acting, but also directing and producing. I love to travel, favourite places being Sri-Lanka and Australia. I am a food enthusiast: I love trying new foods, as well as cooking for my friends and family.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored several students through their GCSEs in English Language and Literature, always ensuring that I am up to date with changes to the curriculum and marking strategies. I am used to finding different methods of teaching to suit each student's needs.

I have worked as an English teacher in a school in China. While there I worked systematically through a curriculum with my class of 35 students, as well as giving them individual help with areas of personal difficulty. This meant I had to tailor my approach in order to meet each student's needs, as the class was mixed ability. It was a challenge to make sure no student was either overwhelmed or bored, but it allowed me to develop my skills and each student managed to flourish at their own pace.

Whilst at University I tutored others in my year who needed help with the phrasing of academic essays- in particular I assisted students with dyslexia who knew what they wanted to say, but had difficulty clarifying their point in writing. This was a very fulfilling role for me, as I was able to assist people I care about fulfil their academic potential.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a very patient, calm person. I like to find out what interests my students and, if possible, incorporate this into their learning so that they associate their studies with something they like, not something they dread. I would normally ask a student to complete a small task initially so that I can assess their working level, and then progress from there, working at a pace which challenges them without being overwhelming.

I truly believe that each student has the potential to excel in life through education - and I would love to play a part in helping them reach their maximum level.

Personal Description:
I am a recently semi-retired teacher. I am married with five grown up children. I enjoy gardening and relish my early morning swim. I enjoy life and am very much a 'glass half full' rather than a 'glass half empty' type of person. I have a degree in Law, Economics and Business as well as a Master degree in Education. I am a qualified NVQ assessor. I am also qualified to teach both adults and secondary school students. I have a lot of experience teaching pupils with dyslexia or other learning difficulties.

I can offer high quality teaching of individual or whole course topics as required

Teaching Experience:

I have 28 years experience as a Head of Department and teacher at a school that regularly exceeded national targets or business and law. My lessons have always been graded as good or better by Ofsted and other observers. I am an examiner in both business and law and write exam papers for business studies. I am familiar with the requirements of all of the major awarding bodies and can give exam tips for success as well as teaching towards the subject.

Tutoring Approach:

Although I am new to this website, I have tutored a number of pupils over the years. My objective is to put all of my tutees at their ease and then design a programme that meets their individual requirements and needs. I am a specialist teacher of dyslexic pupils and will coach them in a way that makes learning comfortable yet still challenging. I like to set homework in order to consolidate learning and provide feedback in such a way as to retain understanding. It is fair to say that I I strive to ensure the success of my tutees.

Personal Description:
Please, feel free to contact me to see my works - I will send you the link via e-mail.

Who am I? I am a creative female human being, who is about to graduate in BSc (Hons) Architecture. I have been:
• breathing for 23 years;
• creating art for more than 12 years.

I am a darling of fortune. I do what I love and love what I do. Moreover, in my case, it is the most precise definition of my future career. I am in a deep, incurable love with Rain, Poetry, Black Coffee, Philosophy, Books, Music and any manifestations of elegant, thoughtful and inspiring Design & Art in all areas of life: from the greatest "Bilbao-effect-Architecture" from Powers-that-be at all times (starting with Ancient innovations to Modern Deconstructionism) to the 50's rockabilly dresses in my wardrobe.

Teaching Experience:

Mostly, I privately tutored children every summer between 2005-2009, helped primary school teacher to prepare art classes. I am currently looking forward to expand age category of my tutees.
I am now starting tutoring again after a break (since 2009), therefore, references will be available soon.

Tutoring Approach:

Before I start tutoring I always prefer to arrange a meeting to have a chat about what your requirements/preferences/needs are first. Once this is discussed, I take couple of days to arrange a brief plan for our lessons, which will be sent to you by e-mail. That way we adjust it together and I have time to prepare helpful information/books/software etc. for you. Once it is confirmed we arrange the date for the first lesson.

Personal Description:
I'm a physics student entering my fourth and final year of my Physics MSci degree at Imperial College London having achieved first class results in all three years so far and ranking within the top 10% of my year. Alongside my physics studies, I'm an active musician - a member of the Imperial College Symphony Orchestra, Imperial College Big Band and former member of the NYOW - and an aspiring software developer.

Teaching Experience:

Since beginning 6th form, I have tutored local secondary and primary school students privately, arranged official after-school revision sessions for GCSE students with my school friends, partaken in numeracy schemes for younger secondary school students requiring additional assistance, and was required to present topics, such as energy wastage, to KS3 classes as part of the Welsh Baccalaureate (which I also passed but was unable to fit in the Qualifications section below).

In my second year of university, I enrolled in a Communicating Physics course which entailed visiting, teaching in and providing teaching resources for a London secondary school for a period of 11 weeks. This is also indicative of my continuing enjoyment of, sharing my understanding and passion for my subjects with younger students.

Tutoring Approach:

Enjoying the experience of learning and understanding is, I feel, of utmost importance to academic success. My approach to tutoring is one which promotes this.

Personal Description:
I currently work as a teaching assistant in year 6, with a long term plan to become a secondary school teacher. I am 30 years old and have decided on a new career path following 6 years in the media industry. I have an abundance of life experience which I feel is a huge asset in the education field, particularly when compared to a graduate straight out of university.

I am a huge fan of sport, with football being my first love. I play twice a week and I am also an FA qualified coach. I love to cook and live healthily and I feel my lifestyle sets a very good example for the children I work with.

Teaching Experience:

I begin my teacher training next academic year and I am currently working as a year 6 teaching assistant at a primary school in Cricklewood, North West London. I have been at this school for just over a year and in that time have progressed at a rapid rate.

Without wishing to sound immodest, it is widely accepted across the school that I am over-qualified for my position and have more than enough intelligence to have a successful teaching career.

I am awarded privileges that other assistants across the school are not. I mark all the maths books every day for my class teacher and even take portions of lessons when she struggles (she is only newly qualified herself). I am also the only TA entrusted to mark exam papers, (usually solely a teacher's job). In addition to this, I run an after school maths booster club, aiming to improve children's abilities in the subject.

With English being my initial area of study ( I have a degree in journalism), I have expertise in that department too. I spent a year teaching at a Saturday school aimed at developing children's reading and writing skills. I was in put in charge of a phonics class a month into my current job, and so working with children who struggle with with the English language is not a problem for me.

I guarantee that I am as capable as any qualified teacher but I understand that some may be apprehensive about my being an assistant. Therefore, my competitive price reflects my level of experience and not subject knowledge.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel I am very adaptable depending on the children I am working with. I like to ensure that the children are fully focused when they are with me. It is not a time for fun and games and I am of the belief that one works best with as few distractions as possible.

Having said this, not every child is the same and I am very open to introducing more playful elements to my lessons, should the student need a less formal approach. I trust in my ability to ascertain which methods different children will benefit most from, along with any additional input from the parent(s).

I like to find out early on which areas the children are struggling with and then devise a plan to improve these as quickly as possible without any loss of understanding on the child's part.

I am also happy help a child with their school studies, either by further explaining the methods they have been taught at school, or trying a completely different approach if I feel this will help.

I have a Bachelor of Science with majors in Geography and Geology. After working in the field of geoscience for several years I wanted a new challenge and am now working in the field of education.

Teaching Experience:

For the past year I have been working as a Learning Support Assistant in the Special Educational Needs department of a high school. In this role I have been working primarily within the school's maths department, as well as working in the science and humanities departments. I supported a Year 11 GCSE maths class which achieved a 97% pass rate in GCSE higher mathematics.

During the 2015/16 school year I tutored an a level geography student.

Previously I have tutored first year university students in geology.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to identify strengths and weaknesses that each individual student possesses. From there I will help to reaffirm their strengths
and to build upon their weaknesses, using a positive mindset so that they can see continued growth.

Having worked in education for the previous year I am fully aware just how important exam technique is. It is an area that most students have room for improvement. I am motivated to help students continually strive for improvement in exam technique to help them fully realise their potentially and achieve the grades that they are capable of.
