Tutoring Approach:

As a tutor, I consider it essential to engage the learner by way of providing for a versatile experience. It is crucial to stimulate the learning process by providing several forms of feedback. This takes the form of oral and speaking as well as listening skills feedback during lessons, whilst focusing more on written skills for homework. Reading can be done in either setting, however it is important that both the tutor and learner participate in the process. This approach gives a fairly structured approach to tutoring.

Personal Description:
I'm a very friendly 19 year old student at Loughborough University studying Sports Technology, this is a unique course consisting of Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, and Sports Science modules.
I have 3 little brothers so I have some experience in helping them with their maths.

I have always been good at mathematics, finding it easy to understand and learn. I achieved A* at GCSE and A at A Level.
I have a brother who has just achieved an A* at GCSE maths who I had helped in the areas in which he struggled. I also have a brother who I helped pass his common entrance maths exam 2 years ago at the age of 13.

I am also a ski and snowboard instructor and have been since the age of 16, so I am very experienced in teaching all ages of students.

I am confident in my mathematical ability and my ability to teach.

Teaching Experience:

I have assisted in my brothers' maths exams in the areas they struggled in (GCSE and Common Entrance).
I am also a very experienced ski and snowboard instructor so have lots of teaching experience.

Tutoring Approach:

I would have to do all tutoring on my computer using Skype as I am currently at University.
I would be able to help with their homework difficulties and coaching towards upcoming exams.

Personal Description:
For the last four years I have worked full time as a tutor but have tutored alongside studying for seven years. I am a graduate of Durham (BA History), and UCL (MA Central and South Eastern European Studies).

My main areas of interest are humanities and languages and I am an enthusiastic and passionate communicator. I currently hold a DBS check certificate.

Teaching Experience:

I am a very experienced tutor, having spent the past seven academic years tutoring a range of subjects, and have a passion for teaching and communication. Having been a part time participant of mainstream education until recently, and having tutored many different pupils at different levels in different subjects in that time, I have a clear understanding of the structure of current A-Level courses and the necessary requirements. I have a very high success rate with many of my pupils achieving the highest grades and all demonstrating a marked improvement since tuition.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor my tutoring approach to the tutee's needs and the subject being taught. Generally, I do a combination of exam technique, subject revision and coursework support. I have made many an amusing yet educational quiz and strongly encourage pupils to achieve the best grade possible.

Please also note: Tutoring is my sole occupation and consequently I require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations otherwise I have to charge in full for the missed lesson.

Personal Description:
Hi all (and apologies for awful hair in profile picture). I am currently a Oxford University reading mathematics (after studying at Dr Challoners), meaning that I am only available for tutoring outside of term times (although keep in mind Oxford vacations are very long! Feel free to contact me through the site and I can give you more specific information for when I am available). After trying to teach my family bits of maths for a while they have eventually tired of it so hopefully I might have more joy sharing my enthusiasm with a willing student!

Teaching Experience:

Aside from helping my younger sibling and kids I babysit with their homework, I also volunteered in a school run scheme where older students tutor struggling KS3 students once a week, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I also have some experience tutoring other students through this site.

Tutoring Approach:

When studying maths, I have often found that a sound understanding of the basic underlying principles to be key, so this is what I would hope to instill in a any students. I would also focus on developing passion and enthusiasm for the subject as this is also incredibly useful, as it encourages students to spend more time to engage with material, in a more rigorous fashion.

Personal Description:
Ben is a technically and artistically accomplished in portraiture photography and been quoted by professors at a university as a master in the studio. He love's to make the photos encapsulate you and who you want to be. Ben strives to capture the details and emotions that would go together to make your time with me an enjoyable experience.
Ben is a social person and loves to get to know the people he works for, so he can really reflect their character and what they want, so to produce the highest quality work for and give them exactly what they are after. Ben aims to spend time chatting with you in advance so that your time with me is so much more productive.
Ben grew up in West Africa where his parents worked amongst the poor coordinating small-scale development projects. This had a massive impact on his life and photographic practice affecting how he relates to the world around him. In his photographic work, he has taken a special interest in reflecting stories and voices through his images. For example, he travelled in Uganda and Thailand and used photography to be the 'voice' of the people he photographed.
Although Ben's formative years were spent in Africa he was educated in Guildford, Surrey at George Abbot School that specialised in the expressive arts. During these years, his creative flare became more apparent when he took A-levels in Fine Art, Sculpture, and Photography. He progressed onto doing a Foundation Degree in Action Photography at Truro College where he specialised in Sport, the Natural world and Social Documentary and began to prepare for a more commercial direction. Ben still maintained his roots in expressive art during the foundation degree but also developed his technical skills thoroughly. Ben had the opportunity to be the photographer for 24/7 magazines in July 2008 at the Newquay Ripcurl Surfing Festival.
In 2009, he progressed on to Plymouth University to study for his BA Hons in Photography where he achieved a 2.1 studying under Stephen Vaughan and Dr. Simon Standing. During this course, he spent time looking intricately into the how we view our bodies and others around us. He concluded the year specializing in fine art nudes and portraiture, with a project called 'The Paradox of Perfect Beauty'. This study challenges the ideologies of beauty in history, sculpture, and figurative representation and critically analyzes the standardized figures and body shape used in art as well as in modern day commercial advertising, fashion and other types of portraiture. In the final exhibition, Ben aimed to present a personal discovery of body image and consequent self-affirmation. Ben was fortunate to be able to exhibit some of his work at the D & A D-New Blood Exhibition in London in June 2010.
Many photographers say they are good but even the perfect image that ben has he can still see my own flaws in you get the highest quality with me and won't be disappointed. In this digital age, many people can snap you but ben can give you an artistic flair, which is also of superior quality. He is sure that you will want to share the photographs he produces. Don't hesitate to contact me to discover more.

I also work in a apple shop in Guildford so can teach about apple products and how to use them both in conjunction with software like photoshop or one there own.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring photography from many years to all different ages and abilities from young kid's to University and Mature Learners, I started my teaching with teaching english in Thailand and working as a assistant youth worker and having to teach different subject and activities. I have furthered my experience with children running children Holiday camps over the school Holidays.

Tutoring Approach:

i have a relaxed approach to teaching trying to have an objective view to someone work but giving prods and direction where needed i lile for my students to discover the answer themselves and the satisfaction you see from them when this happens is the best part of the job every achievement is given praise and every downfall is looked at as not a failure but a part of the learning curve.

Personal Description:
Learning Practical Turkish and English!
Hi Everybody,
I am qualified, a dedicated and experienced teacher of English and I am a native Turkish speaker with 4 years experience of teaching English as well as Turkish. I have taught to different age groups both in Turkey and in the UK including children and adults. Teaching is a strong vocation for me and I love the buzz I get when I feel I have inspired my students. I live in Cheltenham and I am happy to provide language services in Gloucestershire area.

Teaching Experience:

I have got 4 years of Teaching experience both individually and group sessions. I have had individuals from different countries willing to learn Turkish including engineers and pilots and Turkish students who wanted to learn English for either academic purposes or for daily life.

Tutoring Approach:

Tutoring Approach:
My approach is to be friendly, supportive and professional when interacting with students. I encourage them to be proactive and resourceful in their approach to English/Turkish, guiding them through the processes of learning and problem-solving. Sessions are therefore individually tailored and flexible to meet the needs of the student, so are student-focused rather than traditionally teacher-led. I spend time getting to know my students and, whenever possible, encourage the practice of English/Turkish skills within topic areas of personal interest to them. I am a good listener and can empathise with my students, helping them to see areas for improvement in their work and offering practical advice and tips on how to develop it further. Ultimately, I aim to help my students fulfil their academic potential whilst also developing the range of skills needed to achieve their aspirations in life.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Personal Description:
My name is Gur, I'm a theatre and performance maker and a Hebrew tutor residing in London since July 2014.
I was born in Israel in 1986. I grew up in the outskirts of Tel- Aviv and lived in Tel-Aviv most of my adulthood. I attended the prestigious arts school Thelma Yellin followed by the Yoram Lowenstein acting Studio where I graduated in 2009. I completed a Master's degree in Performance at Goldsmiths University of London in 2016. Alongside tutoring I have been presenting my work in different venues around the UK, Royal Vauxhall Tavern Hall, Greenside at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Belgrade theatre in Coventry, and the Camden People's Theatre. Of the latter, "Don't F**k with my Unicorn!", Tim Bano wrote for "The Stage:" Gur's montage piece is a bewildering celebration of those quirks -like a unicorn horn that makes us unique -a skewering of contemporary culture at every level"

Teaching Experience:

Since 2015 I have been teaching Hebrew in London, there are great results and moreover Hebrew tutoring provides me with a connection to my roots. In my productions I put an emphasis on the actor or performer and I am experienced in achieving a result that will satisfy me and my actor.
I am hard working and I believe in contributing to my community. For two years I have been donating my time to teach theatre at a religious kindergarten in Tel-Aviv. in 2015, I have taught acting as a volunteer at the CEN8 Organisation in New Cross.

Tutoring Approach:

This add up to his statement that the performer "lives truthfully under given imaginary circumstances", hence, I highlight the tension between the performance actions and the performer's mode on stage.
Together with the performer I encourage building an inner-monologue combined of images and sub-texts, to enrich and create an extra layer to the performance. This technique helps to build a frame work that allow us to develop an organic flow. The use of sub-text enables us to act truthfully, feel organic in the moment and react only to what is happening on stage.
I have a vast knowledge in theatre plays and I can offer my tutees a verity of texts to work with and be inspired by.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified and experienced TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher and I also offer English, French and German for primary, secondary and adult learners. I teach English to young overseas students who are living and studying in the UK.

I am a BA Honours graduate in Modern Languages (French and German) and I speak both languages fluently, having lived and worked for several years in both countries. I also have a professional language qualification (Institute of Linguists Final Diploma) and speak some Italian.

Before embarking on my tutoring career, I held a number of senior marketing and communications roles both overseas and in the UK. I am a highly experienced writer, editor and proofreader.

I decided to take up tutoring as a second career because I am passionate about languages, and believe the skills I have gained working with different people in the UK and overseas give me the ideal background required to help students at all levels achieve their goals.

Teaching Experience:

I teach English to young overseas students who are living and studying in the UK. I have also have worked as a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher to groups of overseas students of mixed ages and nationalities on English Language courses in the UK, and have spent time working as a teaching assistant at a British primary school.

Personal Description:
I was born in Regensburg, Germany and grew up in Penang, Malaysia. After completing high school (IGCSEs) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, I worked at North London Collegiate School Jeju, South Korea for six months as a teaching assistant. After this I attended the University of Melbourne in Australia for my three year undergraduate degree in Environments, majoring in Environmental Geographies, Politics and Cultures. During this time period, I also completed an intensive Mandarin language summer programme at the University of Hong Kong and taught English in rural Thailand during university holidays. I am bilingual, speaking English and German fluently and also speak a bit of Malay, French and Mandarin. I enjoy exploring new places and cultures and am fascinated by languages. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and teach with a passion.

Teaching Experience:

- A2 and AS Geography (AQA, Edexcel, WJEC)
- GCSE Geography (AQA, Edexcel, OCR)
- University level Geography
- German - all levels including complete beginners and adult learners.

I am currently working (part time) as a Geography teacher in two private sixth form colleges in Ealing, London and St Albans. I teach both A-levels and GCSEs. I have experience of teaching the following exam boards: AQA, Edexcel, WJEC and OCR. Importantly, I am familiar with both the old and new specifications.

I tutored AS and A2 Geography (WJEC Board) at Uxbridge High School in preparation for their exams in June 2016.

I have been working as a private tutor for five years now, alongside my degree in Australia, as well as after, both in Australia and now London. I have had a very large and diverse range of clients. I have tutored university students in Geography and have guided them through essay submissions and exams.

I have also taught on an international level at North London Collegiate School, Jeju, South Korea (as a teaching assistant) and in rural Thailand (as part of a university project).

Tutoring Approach:

Building a strong working relationship and trust between the tutor and student is very important, and being easily approachable is a vital characteristic a tutor should have. Some students may have just lost their inspiration to learn and so it is the tutor`s job to motivate and inspire them. It is important the student is guided on an individual-based level and encouraged to actively engage and think, making links with information explained to them, and not spoon fed. I believe i can bring international experience and diversity to the students i tutor. Especially applicable to Geography, my lessons have a strong focus on exam technique and effective exam preparation.

Personal Description:
Well, hello there! My name is Terianne. I am American. From near New York City. I lived in New York City for a long time. Then I moved to Rome and now here I am in fantastic magical Brighton! Well, in Hove, actually! I ride my bicycle to get around, I do yoga, (Bikram hot yoga and other kinds). I organize comedy nights, I write a blog and nothing makes me happier than meeting new people and this is the right place to do it!

Teaching Experience:

I taught for ten years in Rome, Italy at a school called Wall Street School of English. I loved teaching there. The students were fantastic. In addition to grammar and conversation classes, I started a Drama Club and we did shows for the rest of the school at Christmas. I miss it.

I have also taught at Brighton Language College and I have done a lot of private tutoring. Mostly adults or young adults and some children. I have also taught acting and improvisation so my classes are seriously fun. Both serious AND fun.

Tutoring Approach:

I love the English language and I love teaching! English so weird and wacky and expressive. (Maybe you will need a dictionary to look up those words! :-) ) Unfortunately for you, English can be also a bit difficult. I know. But let's not focus on that. Let's focus on having fun, let's focus on the joy of learning and then what will happen is that the silly mistakes we make will only make us laugh. We will laugh a lot and you will learn a lot. That's the best way to learn.

As for me, I am a trained actress and comedienne so I will always keep you entertained and the lessons will always be lively. And I expect you to do your homework! Just because you hire a teacher, doesn't mean you're going to learn: you have to do the work!

I have worked with young children starting out on their education journey through to Bachelor and Masters Level University degrees.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked with young children starting out on their education journey through to Bachelor and Masters Level University students.

Whilst my subject specialism is Psychology, I have taught across a range of subjects with enthusiasm, which ensures that I have an excellent track record of students gaining exam results which exceed their minimum target grades, with many meeting their aspirational target grades.

I have taught in a range of education settings which include: primary and secondary schools, Pupil Referral Units, Further and Higher Education. This includes working with individuals of all abilities and backgrounds, including having experience in working with individuals who may have special educational needs or have English as a second language.

This has been in a variety of subjects which include: Entrance Exams, English, Maths, Science, Health, Psychology and Humanities, among others.

I have taught extensively online as well as in person.

I am fortunate enough to be an Examiner of KS2, GCSE and A-Level providing me with a detailed insight into a range of exam boards.
