Personal Description:
Music Student in Scotland , will be furthering Music Performance studies in England as of September 07

Young, motivated, enthusiastic, reliable and honest

Offer vocal tuition to potential vocalists from primary age to around 14 years old. Also cater for adults looking to start out casual singing lessons as a hobby.

Teaching Experience:

Previously employed by my vocal teacher as a Drama Assistant for children age 5 - 12

As i am still studying myself, tutoring has only just been seen as a possible extra source of work.

As i have completely an NC in Music, i hold basic theory knowledge and through my own vocal lecturer hold valuable knowledge of the voice which i am extremely keen to pass on to others.

Tutoring Approach:

I would begin by discussing with the student what they hope to achieve through the tutoring and take things from there.

Can help out with basic music theory where needed.

Vocaly - light physical warm ups.

- short vocal exercises at beginning of every lesson

- explore different genres of music to find where the student really thrives and gains most
enjoyment out of singing

- after time , notice obvious progression within the student

- both myself and the student should be willing to research and find more repetoire to learn
regularly

Most of all, hope the student enjoys the lesson and finds it rewarding. My approach will be enthusiastic, helpful and hope to see success within classes.

Personal Description:
Hi
I am a student myself and so know how much pressure it can be to settle down and learn. I am extremely patient and emphatic and have little trouble forming relationships with young people.
I was initially studying at Sussex University for an English Language degree but decided that I wanted my focus elsewhere so I am currently in the process of applying to do Social Work or Youth Work.

Teaching Experience:

I helped tutor a family friend so that they could pass GCSE English language. I hope to work with young people in the future and although I have little formal experience I seek to gain this through helping young people achieve their full potential.
I also have helped my Mum through difficult areas of her adult literacy course.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to outline the areas of study most in need of help and to work to build on the strengths of my tutees, putting emphasis on the positive but working to build confidence in areas in need of development. My teaching technique involves a lot of fun but also developing a trusting relationship between tutor and tutee. As I am still quite young myself I feel I can relate well to young people in an unpatronising way.

Personal Description:
I am an approachable, reliable and supportive tutor who listens and is attentive to every students individual requirements.

I have a first-class honours degree in acting from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) which is among the most prestigious drama schools in the world.

I began teaching 'A' Level and GCSE drama, theatre studies, english literature and history three years ago and have enjoyed every moment. I also couple the academic tutoring with practical acting coaching and workshop leading in schools. I have taught at Bodmin College in Cornwall and St Leonard's Independent School in Fife among others. References are available from teachers on request.

Teaching Experience:

At 'A' Level:

Theatre Studies:

Usually comparative essay- writing attributing the appproaches of Brecht and Stanislavsky to plays. Commonly syllabus texts include 'Our Country's Good'. 'A Doll's House', 'The Beggar's Opera' and 'Three Sisters'.

English Literature:

Again, essay writing. We would compare and contrast themes in Shakespeare plays (Measure for Measure, The Merchant of Venice) with novels (Frankenstein, Schindler's Ark) or poetry (Rime of The Ancient Mariner, T.S Eliot).

History:

Example papers, source analysis. Modern European history: Nazi Germany and the Weimar Republic. Medicine or Crime and Punishment through tine.

Tutoring Approach:

I lead my tutee by asking questions to lead them to a more specific answer.

I am usually on hand to assist with coursework and believe firmly in supporting the tutees endeavours as opposed to providing them with the answers.

I pride myself on clarity, encouragement and positivity.

Personal Description:
I am at Leeds University studying music. I really enjoy playing jazz, classical and funk music. I have been on tour with various local bands, and really enjoy teaching flute, piano and vocals. I'm currently in a funk band -Mindfunk, and in a few orchestras here. I hope to be a school teacher after my degree.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching flute and piano for 5 years, up to grade 5 standard for flute and grade 2 piano. I have also just started teaching vocals to a few students in Leeds. At home in Winchester I was working as a teacher part time alongside my college work.

I try to encourage the pupil to be open minded about what they are learning, it should be fun, as well as serious when exams come up. I try to make music fun and enjoyable for the pupil, but also want them to work hard to achieve their best possible standard.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher who has spent some time teaching adults with learning difficulties. I have also taught briefly in both the state and private school systems as well as helping graduates whose level of knowledge required boosting prior to completing their PGCE courses. These experiences have made me so enthusiastic about teaching science that in 2008 I completed a full-time postgraduate course to enable me to teach physics to 'A' level followed by a course covering the content of the latest GCSE science syllabuses.

Teaching Experience:

I have three years experience of teaching post 16s with learning difficulties. I also have experience of teaching all the sciences to GCSE in both the state and private systems and Physics to 'A' level. Before I entered teaching I trained staff in several areas of IT in the commercial world. I have also trained people in various leisure activities, including fitness training.

Tutoring Approach:

In order to tutor a student I need to come alongside them and reassure them whilst building a relationship with them. Once this is done a plan of action can be formed and really effective tutoring can begin. The plan can be changed as often as required as the needs of the student change. Although I am always enthusiastic about science I relate all work that the student and I carry out together to the syllabus of the relevant examining body. I have a very patient and encouraging approach to tutoring but will always ensure that the student is on track. A student's understanding of a topic is regularly tested and I build in revision work so that the stress on the student at exam time is lessened.

Personal Description:
I am a student studying Engineering in my final year at Cambridge University. I like keeping busy and in my spare time I enjoy playing rugby, which I do for my college, and playing the Scottish fiddle. As it is my last year I've tried to do as much as possible and have recently taken up novice rowing, mixed netball , wine tasting and French. Aside from this my time is spent working and socialising with my housemates and college friends. Of course, I also love teaching!

Teaching Experience:

1) Class helper during my final years at school, working with a GCSE maths class.
2) Taught sailing to adults and children in 2006 for 6 months in Greece.
3) Was a teaching assistant for an A-Level D.T. class during my third year at university. This was part of the Simulus Scheme and primarily involved helping students with their final year projects.
4) SEEK (Science and Engineering Education for Kids) and outreach volunteer which both involve fortnightly workshops for primary school children on basic science.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that the most important thing about good tuition is the ability to know when the tutee actually understands. It's all too tempting to just explain it and assume it has gone in! Asking leading questions and letting them do the talking are good ways of checking that you're making progress.
Though interest comes through understanding, I try to make lessons engaging by generating a friendly relationship with the tutee and adding relevance to information with context. This is particularly important with maths, which is so easy to make really boring!
