These important tools are invaluable to future researchers because they aid in the careful design of experiments and in determining the predictions of a model or theory. I would also strive to cover a range of topics in my courses. This would enable me to teach an array of different methods for approaching physical problems and to demonstrate how similar approaches can be applied to problems from disparate fields. Furthermore, being a theoretician, I am well suited to teach physics majors how to construct theories and models, to derive predictions from these models, and to test these predictions against empirical data they have collected from the literature or obtained in the laboratory. Mentoring the research of undergraduate and graduate students is one of the most long-lasting contributions a researcher can make, and it is a process that I find fun and rewarding. From my experience, I learned the importance of engaging students through examples and of pitching material at a level that assumes intelligence but not necessarily knowledge, blending the known with the unknown in a combination that gives the student the feeling of possibility rather than that of impossibility that formal and impressive methods may impose. I am happy to adapt my tutoring style depending on age and need. With languages especially it is important to ascertain why you want to learn; are you studying for a particular exam or is fluency your goal? Do you find it easier to focus on grammar, letting the rest fall into place around it, or would you prefer practical tuition based on real life situations and media? All this can be discussed and set out at the beginning of our arrangement.

Hello.

I am a student at Cambridge University. I was previously at a successful, all-girls, private school.

I have top grades in a wide range of GSCEs. I took Spanish, Latin, Ancient Greek and General Studies at A Level and passed with high A grades. I have a 2:1 in Classics Part I for Cambridge and am now taking Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies.

I am 20 years old. People describe me as friendly and sociable as well as organised and efficient. In my Cambridge college I hold various positions of responsibility.

Teaching Experience:
I have experience as a private tutor.

During July '08 I taught English as a foreign language at a school in Dubai, UAE. I had my own form class but during the school day I saw 60 children between the ages of 11 and 15.

I have also taught workshops to English Primary School children and Japanese High School and University Students.

Tutoring Approach:
I am friendly and supportive as a tutor; encouraging my pupils to stretch themselves and achieve their best.

Although I am only 20, I feel that I have the right amount of maturity to be guide my pupils, but I am also young enough to seem approachable. Tutoring is not the same as teaching in a classroom, so I do not believe that a Tutor should be the same as a teacher.

I am a fully qualified Primary teacher. For the past two years I have been living in Japan teaching ESL, my youngest students were two and my eldest students were 83. I met and taught a wide range of people which always made my teaching experiences interesting and fun. I am fun and friendly, I take teaching English seriously but always adapt and present the lesson to each student differently in order to make it as fun as possible but with maximum learning output for each student.

I worked in Japan for two years, I spent one year teaching in a private English conversation school in the north of Japan. My youngest student being two and the eldest eighty three. Here I taught group lessons of up to four people. I also did special travel and tourism lessons preparing students who were going to study abroad.
I then spent six months as a lead teacher in an international preschool, here I taught all academic subjects through english to Japanese children. English was there second language.

Tutoring Approach:
I have a very fun and friendly approach as I like to make the atmosphere of the lesson as relaxed as possible. I feel that if the teacher and student are both relaxed learning will be more effective, however I do take teaching seriously. I will adapt all lessons to the individual student and more than welcome feedback, be it positive or negative. In order to adapt the next lesson for the student.
