About Robin:
I'm currently a student at Birmingham City University I am about to enter my final year of jewellery design. I'm home for the summer, until the middle of September. My main focus is in design but drawing skills are an integral part of what I do. As far as travelling is concerned i will travel further than the distance stated if necessary. I dont tutor online at the moment but this wil be possible at a later date. If you would like more details about anything from myself to the content of the qualifications I have please do ask.

Teaching Experience:
Through school I was part of the mentoring scheme working with younger pupils in and out of the classroom. While at college I was a classroom assistant working with people from their mid teens up to retirement age.

Tutoring Approach:
I prefer a relaxed environment where the student feels comfortable. Initially I like to see the way that the student works, trying to gain a bit of understanding of the methods the student employs. From this i can work around the strengths and weaknesses of each individual. I don't give a set amount of homework as the creative process isn't comparable to reading a text book, though I would hope to see progress after each visit.

I am an artist from Cologne, now resident in Liverpool and London.

Teaching Experience:
I offer a varied background in running classes and workshops for learners between 5 and late 60's.
Teaching German and art workshops in schools, as well as privately from my studio and in a variety of community settings (i.e. youth centers, country house festivals, community groups, safe housing for women).

Tutoring Approach:
The workshops and lessons are adaptable, focus is placed on making the learner feel confident.

I recommend that you take lessons of 90 minute duration.
For the art lessons I recommend a minimum of 90 minutes and an ideal of 2-3 hour lenghts (I will then charge per session and not per hour) .

For Art subjects I like to work with small groups of 2-5.
I will charge per session not per hour in this case and the individual fee is reduce when more participants join.

I began my teaching career as a Classroom Assistant working in a secondary school in the Learning Support Department. The school is located in a disadvantaged area. I gained beneficial experience working with children who have difficulties with both their learning and their behaviour. Following that I worked as a Group Leader for an activities camp. Being heavily involved with both areas of support due to the make up of my class has provided me with strategies to deal positively with behavioural problems and an understanding of how to teach bilingual children.

Teaching Experience:
I was responsible for a composite Primary 5/4 class of 22 pupils. There is a diverse range of Additional Support Needs within the class. I planned and implemented programmes of work to cater for these needs and create individualised learning plans to support identified pupils. I also covered other stages throughout the school from P1- P7 on a weekly basis.
I contributed to the development of the school through the school improvement plan. I was given responsibilities and meet with staff on regular occasions to discuss school matters, school policies and school or curriculum development. I was involved in the ICT development working party.

About Kirsty:
I am young, friendly, enthusiastic and experienced tutor. I have lived abroad for over 5 years so I am very open minded and value diversity.

I am currently completing an Msc in Community Learning and Development and enjoying it very much.

As a trained artist I enjoy making and exhibiting my work in Scotland. I am a very active person, I love snowboarding and rock climbing and I think my varied interests have stood me in good stead in my experience thus far - good analogies for teaching!

Teaching Experience:
Over four years teaching Art and English as a second language in Japan - to students aged 2 to 82!

In Japan I taught in both private and group settings and trained colleagues to facilitate learning. Experience of teaching business English and preparing students to sit TOEFL, IELTS and other English Language tests.

In the UK I have taught art and craft in children's classes and young people art school portfolio preparation.

I have extensive experience of working with children, young people and migrants in a community setting, teaching everything from global citizenship to outdoor education.

Tutoring Approach:
As an arts graduate I am extremely creative and like to apply this to my teaching.

While working in Japan I set up the community centre in which I worked and created the programme and curriculum according to the expressed needs of the students; I think this is very important - to respond to what the students wish to learn.

About Zangmo Denise:
I am a qualified Art Teacher and professional artist with specialist knowledge of Drawing, Painting, Digital Photography and Graphic Design. I offer tuition in all art media including pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolour, oils, acrylics, collage, mixed media, digital photography and Photoshop. Everyone is welcome from absolute beginner to advanced, including those seeking exam coaching.

Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified Art, Craft and Design teacher with 24 years experience teaching all ages, levels and abilities in Schools, Colleges and in the community. I have been teacher in charge of all the Art and Design Technology curriculum in a Primary School, have taught A Level Art to adults and have been appointed Reserve As Level Art Moderator by OCR exam board. I have also been a Visiting Lecturer in Painting and Creative Studies Lecturer for Eastbourne College of Arts and Technology. Recently I have been teaching art, meditation and digital photography in the community.

Tutoring Approach:
I aim to encourage students to experiment with different ways of expressing themselves creatively and to find their own, personal interests and individual style. Consequently, there is no 'house style', and I find students are constantly stretching me to think of better ways to teach, which keeps me on my toes!

My own art work has encompassed both traditional and experimental approaches. Interests in psychology, the spiritual and art as therapy have led me to make more experimental, abstract paintings - landscapes of the mind. This experience of working in and having Art Therapy, has inspired both my own creative work and extended the way I approach teaching.

I prefer to teach art classes in groups no larger than 10, in which a welcoming, friendly atmosphere can develop during the course and students get get more individualised art tuition. Structured art activities are balanced with encouragement to do your own thing, and art teaching methods include demonstrations, talks, discussions, step by step or experimental exercises, projects, homework, encouraging one-to-one guidance and outings, always with the option to do you own thing.

I also offer one-to-one art, digital photography and photoshop tuition at times to suit you, daytimes, evenings and weekends. You can have a session as little or as often as you want, and learn at your own pace.
