| About Mrinalini: I am a very enthusiastic and positive person, love motivating and encourage pupils to obtain better results. I have tutore students for four years while I pursuing my Bachelors in Mass Media. After which I joined a call centre and within a years time I got a break to be a Voice and Accent trainer. I have worked as a Voice and Accent Trainer in Call Centres for two years. I trained aspirant customer service executives from non English medium schools and executives who had speech problems. My constant endeavour was to improve their accent, voice clarity and overall English Language. In my tenure as a Voice and Accent Trainer I have come across agents with genuine speech concerns like clarity, accented English (English with mother tongue influence), stutter in speech and grammatically incorrect English, most of them also had concerns with speaking to an audience. With my training these agents have been able to overcome their weakness, speak well in public and give effective interviews to become smart and confident customer service executives in International Call Centres. |
Teaching Experience: I have four years of tutoring experience. I have taught subjects like English, maths, history, geography and science. I have also worked with students with learning disabilities and dyslexia and have achieved impressive results from them. I make learning easy by adopting creative and simple methods for children to understand and retain what they have learned. My first student Sunil was very weak in English and was not confident in reading and writing in English, I trained him to write essays and use his imagination to make it interesting. Along with English I taught social sciences as well as science and maths. The second student Dhruv Bijlani was a dyslexic child, he came under my tutelage in class six, teaching him was very challenging as he had a very short attention span. I had to adopt innovative ways of grabbing his attention and rigorously taught him all subjects to obtain grades above his as well as his parent's expectations. |
Tutoring Approach: I make learning easy by adopting creative and simple methods for children to understand and retain what they have learned. I am empathetic to a childs needs and can understand the pressure they go through. | About Scott: Hello. I am 30 years of age and as of Sept 2007 I have been a teacher for seven years. I have taught in a number of schools in England and Wales. In my current school, The Alun School in Mold, I teach Science, Biology and Psychology to AS/A2 level and previously Mathematics to GCSE level. I am able to offer tuition to individuals or small groups in all of these subjects using a pupil centred learning approach using IT resources (from my laptop!) and past examination material wherever possible to reinforce understanding. I work hard to make my lessons interesting and enjoyable. I have a proven track record in motivating pupils to achieve their potential. |
Teaching Experience: I have taught in a number of schools in England and Wales. I trained to be a teacher in North Wales and completed successful placements in Holyhead High School and Ysgol Bryn Alyn. My first appointment was at the Wellington School in Manchester where I taught Science and Biology across the age and ability range to AS/A2 level. I then moved back to North Wales Where I taught Mathematics at GCSE level at the Castell Alun High School in Hope. In my current school, The Alun School in Mold, I teach Science, Biology and Psychology to AS/A2 level and previously Mathematics to GCSE level. |
Tutoring Approach: I believe learning should be enjoyable. I work hard to ensure that my lessons are not only interesting and challenging but also motivate students to work hard to reach their potential. As much as possible I operate a pupil centred teaching approach where students are required to apply and consolidate their knowledge using exercises and interactive activities rather than just sitting and listening. Where ever possible I use IT resources (from my laptop!) and past examination material to reinforce understanding. As well as individual sessions, small groups (no more than 3) can be accommodated. When a series of sessions are booked discounts can be arranged. Depending on distance to tutorial, reasonable travelling expenses will be applied to my fee. |

| About Aleha: I am a University of Birmingham Medical Biochemistry and Toxicology Post Graduate who has been working in the NHS for the last 10 years. I lead a team of medical scientists on a daily basis and also train and educate other scientists. I have a passion for imparting knowledge. I am a very sociable, amicable person who has a genuine desire to teach, motivate and mentor our future generation. I wish to help create intelligent and confident young minds and guide them onto the path to success in every aspect of life. |
Teaching Experience: I have no formal teaching qualifications, however I have exceptionally high academic achievements and teach graduates and undergraduates the principles of medical science and analytical chemistry. I have also tutored several members of my family and friends, who have gone onto Grammar Schools, University and are successful in their current careers. |
Tutoring Approach: My philosophy is that "wisdom grows from study". Children posses the greatest and most intelligent minds. As a tutor, my job is to nurture and bring out the best in a child. Encouragement and enthusiasm is what drives children and makes them want to learn more and strive to succeed. I believe in repeating and practising subject areas which are difficult. Setting attainable targets and helping a child achieve such targets is a pleasure. Every child is intelligent and has an abundance of potential and energy. I hone in on that energy, and encourage them to have self belief to reach their full potential. All it takes is a little patience and perseverance. Through study, every child will learn to be focused, disciplined, mature, wise and self confident. That is what I aim to teach. My subject knowledge, is superb, in all the areas that I teach. |

Types of Tutoring: Travels to you / From their home
| About Andrew: I am a 23 year old student, currently training to be a doctor at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. I have a passion for science and mathematics and endeavor to share this with my students. |
Teaching Experience: I have tutoring experience teaching GCSE and A level science and mathematics. As I am a student myself I am very aware of the pressures and difficulties of studying and revising for exam success. I am able to offer the skills, to my students, which I have used to achieve the highest grades at GCSE, A Level and degree level. |
Tutoring Approach: I believe that anyone has the ability to learn difficult material if it is presented to them in a way that best suits their learning style: You don't have to be a genius to learn rocket science, you just need a good teacher! I believe that it is the duty of the teacher to adapt their teaching methods to match their student and to make the material enjoyable and applicable. The major advantage of one-to-one teaching is that the teaching style can be matched to the student in a way that is not possible in the classroom. |

Types of Tutoring: Travels to you / From their home / Online
| About Daniella: I am currently studying Dentistry at King's College London. I was educated at North London Collegiate School, where I took both my GCSE's and A-Levels. I received A*s in 8 GCSE subjects with an A in History, and completed my maths GCSE 1 year early, continuing to do an Additional Freestanding Further Mathematics qualification during my final GCSE year, for which I achieved the highest grade of A.I decided to continue with Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths (only AS), and English for higher education, and achieved all A's in my AS-Levels, as well as all A's in my A2's, with 100% in several of the Biology, Chemistry, Maths and English modules, including some synoptic modules. In year 12, I was Managing Director of a Young Enterprise company, which I found both enjoyable, but at the same time demanding of responsibility. In my spare time, I enjoy playing sport and writing for student journals or magazines. |
Teaching Experience: I have tutored numerous students for the past 2 years, spanning a range of ages from 4 years old to 16 years old, some of whom have had learning difficulties or special needs. The qualifications for which I have tutored include SATs (year 6 and year 9), 11+ and 7+ entrance examinations, and GCSE's. I aim to deliver a level of teaching that ensures a success rate in which the student reaches their full potential, often resulting in the acceptance of the students into their desired school, or achieving a grade previously unreachable. |
Tutoring Approach: My policy when tutoring is the idea that if a student develops an enjoyment for whatever subject is being taught, they are more likely to put in the work and effort required for an improvement.Once they begin improving and understand more of what is being taught, their love of the subject should develop further. Hoping to instill an enjoyment of the subject is therefore my primary belief in a successful approach to their studies. Although some work will be completed in lessons, I view a lesson as quality teaching time, and therefore lessons will never be conducted where I provide work, leave the student, and mark it eventually. This, in my view, wastes both the student's time, and their parent's money. My feeling of responsibility for my students ensures that during lesson time, I deliver the best that I possibly can, while bringing out the best in the student, so that every lesson target is achieved by the end.My exam results reflect that I can achieve full marks, and my aim for my students is no less than what I desire for myself. I hope to not only teach my students what they need to know, but also how to study and learn what they need to know, so that they can perform well in examinations. I believe that homework is necessary to ensure that what is being taught in lessons can be used outside lessons also. However, homework is given taking into account the student's available free time, and is not meant to be a burden, more than a help. The shorter age gap between my students and I means that I can still relate to the demands and requirements of school, while at the same time offer valuable advice having recently completed the schooling system. Overall, it is important that lessons should be both fun and educational, and although I may at times be strict in order to ensure that progress is being made, my students have definitely viewed me as more of a friend than a strict and distant teacher. |
