| About Stephanie: I am an enthusiastic individual who puts every possible effort into everything I do. Being positive and encouraging provides the best possible outcome in almost every situation, therefore I am usually optimistic. I have several interests, including swimming, tennis, football and other sports. I like to read, watch television, socialise and work hard. I am an outgoing, helpful and positive individual. |
Teaching Experience: I am currently embarking on a Post-graduate Certificate of Education which will begin in September, where I will be focusing on becoming a science teacher in secondary schools and colleges. Previous to this I have spent 18 months in China where I taught English as a foreign language in several different settings. This taught me about management within the classroom and in planning. It also gave me the confidence to teach appropriately and it provided me with experience at teaching English to different age groups. Whilst studying for my BSc Hons Biology and University I produced an interactive CD-Rom for GCSE students and presented it to the class as a teacher. I have also spent time with children under examination conditions as an exam invigilator. I have completed my Students Associates Scheme Level 2 in a primary school too. This allowed me to observe several different situations within a school and I learnt a lot from them. |
Tutoring Approach: I have a laid back but encouraging approach to tutoring. I feel that a relaxed learning environment, where topics are made interesting and fun for the student create a better learning environment and encourage progression for the students. I create a steady work load for the students so that the progress at a steady level, to try to reduce pressure. I create extensive lesson plans so that both the student and I can gain the most from the tutoring session. I feel that providing the best tutoring is about both the teacher and the student progressing together to provide the best learning environment for the student. |
