Personal Description:
I am a graduate of the University of Durham in Modern European Languages, having studied French, German and Spanish. I have lived, worked and studied in France, Germany and Latin America and currently work in a Spanish speaking environment in Leicester, where I teach Spanish, French and German to all levels in a private language institution. I enjoy teaching my languages and giving confidence to my students.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught Spanish, French and German in a private Language Institution in Leicester for over two years.
During this time I have worked with learners of all ages, everything from providing GCSE support to help with Distance Learning Degrees. Most of my classes are on a 1 to 1 basis, although I also teach some groups of up to 8 students. I have taught Corporate classes for staff at the Alliance and Leicester and Santander Bank, teaching groups of up to 8 beginner's Spanish and Spanish in a business environment.
In 2007 I gained experience working with young people in France, being an 'Animatrice' (providing entertainment and activities) in a VALVVF Holiday centre.
In 2004 I worked with English learners of French (aged 10 - 14) in Normandy, where I taught basic French and worked in a French speaking environment.

Tutoring Approach:

I provide a student-centered approach to teaching. With the student, I assess their linguistic strengths and weaknesses in light of their goals, be they GCSE, A-Level or University exams. We then focus on the curriculum and what they feel they need to learn. My approach is based on building that all important confidence prior to exams, helping students prepare, and providing structured, focused and effective revision strategies. I am also aware that learning should not just be exam centered - by learning a language students are learning a skill for life.
I work from a range of resources and use classes that I prepare myself. Classes provide whatever the student needs most, be it listening practice, conversation, grammar revision or just all round support.
I aim to support a student's learning in the school or university environment, providing 1 to 1 classes to optimise learning.

Qualifications:
BA Hons Modern European Languages, French - Spanish - German, University of Durham

Personal Description:
I am a music student at Oxford University, and I have a wide variety of interests ranging from business to IT. As an individual I am friendly and outgoing, with an enthusiasm for my subject and a conscientious approach to work. Coming from a large family, I have gained lots of experience of working with children, which has given me a patient approach to teaching and a good understanding of how children think.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to allow pupils to find solutions themselves, giving whatever clues are necessary to achieve this without providing them with all the answers. I am also keen to use whatever teaching aids seem appropriate in particular situations, whether it involves using diagrams to illustrate a point or giving practical demonstrations in music lessons.

Personal Description:
I have been engaged in private teaching for school children since very long which has made me very patient and calm person. I am also very open to suggestions and meaningful discussions. I am confident in what i teach and i try to put the best of my capabilities. I am also very jovial and motivated person. I like to travel and interact with new people through which also I have developed good communication skills.

Teaching Experience:

I have been engaged in teaching since a long time during my stay in India. I have recently been involved in tutoring again (but in UK this time) where I get to engage with a lot of young minds. Another thing that I personally prefer is engaging in discussions. I appreciate different points of views. I am very open to suggestions and meaningful discussions.
I feel that I have the necessary motivation and acumen to be able to contribute to the overall goals and objectives of this position. I try to conceptualize innovative ideas and keep them plain and simple for making them easily understandable. During my stint at the private organization, I learnt how to work in a busy corporate environment as well as put my multi-tasking skills to practice. I have adapted and acclimatized to the group dynamics and I enjoy working as a team and I believe that my ability to work as a core team member has increased to a decent level. I have also been engaged in private teaching for school children since very long. I understand basic elements of handling children as well as youngsters and thus I feel I would be able to contribute to your organization positively. With respect to the understanding of UK's educational system, I have recently attended an 'Open School Day' organized by the TDA (Teaching Development Authority, UK) and I am also providing tuitions in association with a private organization, whereby I have been familiarized with the system and its processes in good detail.
I am confident that I will be able to put to practice the best of my capabilities for this endeavor and thus I am looking forward to be a part of your institution

Tutoring Approach:

I like teaching by providing day to day examples relevant to the text. I try to make subject interesting and fun to learn by palying educational games with my students. Also, i try my best to make leave a photographic memory of what they have learned which helps them remember the topic for longer period.

Personal Description:
If you are working one-to-one its important to have good interpersonal skills. I am pretty flexible in my approach. Some students need to be drawn out some need to be directed a bit more. I am comfortable with both approaches. The important thing is that you communicate and learn.

My interests: Short story writing, Scuba Diving, Riding (not very good though!) and watching my son play football!

Teaching Experience:

I am an experienced University Lecturer (22 years). I have also taught at GCSE and at A level.
I have an MSc Computer Science, BSc (II.1) Psychology and have passed various additional modules from the Open University in Social Sciences and in General Science (with distinction).

Tutoring Approach:

I follow a student-centred approach. Everyone is different. Students have different learning styles, different background knowledge and they may differ in the kinds of explanation they need, so l like to tailor my approach to the student.

I find a calm, supportive and structured approach very successful in enabling all students to achieve their potential, especially those with special needs.

My usual approach is to clarify what we want to achieve, then carry out an assessment of the student's level of knowledge and ability in the subject area. Having identified strengths and weaknesses we have a foundation on which we can build. Then we set to work with exercises, explanations and homework, with frequent progress checks. It usually works very well!

Qualifications:
BSc (Hons) Psychology
MSc Computer Science

Personal Description:
I am a first year medical student on a gap year. I have achieved high grades throughout my academic career. I did four A-levels in maths (A), biology (A), chemistry (A) and physics (B). I had achieved 4 A's in these subjects at AS level. At GCSE I achieved 5A* (including maths and double science), 3 A's and 3B's. I am a well rounded person with good communication and inter-personal skills, leadership experience in the school and work placement experience both while at school and before entry to the medical school in 2008, which includes volunteering at my local hospital. At the medical school, I was on a mandatory placement for patient orientated learning with a General Medical Practitioner. I have done CRB checks for the hospital volunteering (2007) and for my medical school (2008).

Teaching Experience:

I was given the opportunity at my sixth form school to be a teaching assistant during my free periods in which I would aid the teachers in explaining concepts to the students who required help. I did this for maths and science for students aged 11-14. I have also taught my younger siblings who are now at AS-level and continue to teach them in maths, biology and chemistry. I taught them these subjects while they were studying at GCSE level in 2009.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a patient person who understands that everyone has different rates of assimilating knowledge. Having this in mind, I will focus towards the area of weakness of the student which could be on theory, attempting exam questions or focusing on exam techniques. However, practise is paramount to a good understanding of the syllabus area and I will insist that the student agrees and does what is expected of them while they learn from me so that the focus is towards these goals.

Qualifications:
Maths A-Level: A
Biology A-Level: A
Chemistry A-Level: A
Physics A-Level: B
