About Chantal:
I recently graduated from University of Cambridge in Medicine, and I am currently studying for a Master's in Immunology at Imperial College London.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught piano music theory to children and adults for 8 years. I have also taught science and maths of various levels to children for 6 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I find that a firm understanding of the subject, an understanding of a child's mind, and an appreciation of their other pressures makes a more supportive tutor. I also believe that questions and past papers provide a vital revision tool and test the knowledge of a student. It is time-wasting to merely lecture someone without ensuring their understanding of a topic. I am very passionate about teaching children because I believe that through the correct supervision and hard work, you can reach your full potential to succeed in examinations.

Qualifications:
A-Levels: Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology. All at A Grade
AS-level Statistics and A grade
GCSEs: 10A* and 2A

About Catrin:
My name is Catrin Williams and I am 23 years old. I come from a strong and varied educational background, which has included me achieving three grade A's at A level in 2004. I studied English Literature, Biology, Chemistry and completed an English Language A.S. to grade A standard. More recently I have achieved a first class honours degree at Keele University in English. I am currently studying part time for a Master's Degree in Children's Literature at a University in London and hope to pursue a career in English University lecturing. I am originally from Wales, but have lived in Stoke since 2004, and work as an Admin Assistant in the area. I live with my partner and younger sister and my beautiful dog Sammy in a little house in the Stoke on Trent area.

Teaching Experience:

Throughout my time at University I have been tutoring and providing advice to people in High School and College regarding English. Most recently this included my helping a mature student to achieve a Grade B at English G.C.S.E, despite English being his second language and his achieving a U the first time round. I am now helping him to complete an English Literature A.S. I have worked on a voluntary basis as a proof reader at University and have helped many people studying for English G.C.S.E. with their reading and writing skills within a classroom setting.

Tutoring Approach:

Whilst I am very interested and passionate about English, I realise that this is not the case for everyone and that many people find English a difficult and frustrating subject. I am a very patient and understanding tutor who is very enthusiastic about English and am keen to transfer some of my enthusiasm and understanding! I have a good base of knowledge regarding English language and English Literature and feel I could help anyone to further their knowledge in these subjects. I am also confident in assisting people with their reading and writing skills at all levels and I can explain topics in a clear and concise manner. I will also research any books/plays etc alongside you, so you do not feel lonely and isolated. Rather than teaching a whole course from scratch I feel it would be most beneficial for the student for sessions to study solely areas of their subject or course which are difficult to them, and we can rectify these areas together quickly and easily, without breaking the bank!

Qualifications:
1st Class Honours Degree in English from Keele University. I am completing a Master's in Literature now at Roehampton University in London.
A Levels: English Literature-A
Biology-A, Chemistry-A, English Langauge AS-A

My name is Andrew and I am a fully qualified primary teacher with a B.Ed (HONS) from Lancaster University. I achieved qualified teacher status in 1992 and my most recent police records check was successfully undertaken within the past three months.
